It's grilling season!!! I love my grill. I took a little grilling class with my sister-in-law a couple of summers ago and I am totally addicted to grilling now. Here is a recipe I came up with recently for burgers. It is really delicious. Even my husband said so, and that is saying something!! He is not a huge burger lover.
BBQ Cheddar Hamburger
(Makes 3-4 burgers)
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1/4 Tbsp Minced Onion
1 lb ground beef
2 slices of cheddar or colby chesse
3 Tbsp BBQ Sauce
1/2 c. fresh spinach
Combine ground beef, garlic salt, and minced onion in a large bowl. Mix with your hands. Create two thin patties. Place 1 pieces of sliced cheese in the middle of one of the patties. Place the other patty on top and pinch together. Repeat until you have all the burgers you need. Place on grill and coat the top with BBQ sauce. Cook on one side until no longer pink then flip and coat with sauce again. Cook to desired doneness. Place cooked burgers on top of bun and place spinach on top. Enjoy!
The interior of the burger will stay pink longer because of the cheese. Make sure you use a meat thermometer to make sure it gets to the desired temperature.
If you keep your burger in one spot and cook it, it won't fall apart as easily. The more you touch it, the more it will start to crumbly.
