Peasantly Shirr Dress

I got some great fabric from Fabricworm.  It is so cute!  I just couldn't resist making something like immediately!  So I whipped up this sweet dress for my little one.  I call it the "Peasantly Shir Dress".  (He he he!  Get it? Peasant dress...Shirring.)  I am now totally addicted to shirring aka smocking.  Check this post out for other shirred projects!

Using my new found shirring skills, I designed the pattern with inspiration from a sweet dress at my favorite children's clothing store.  I love me some shirring!

I put a lot of work into this little baby!  (The pattern, not just the cute model!  But she is a lot of work too!)  And have some FABULOUS friends working to "test" the pattern sizing.  (They are so great for working out all the bugs for me!  Thanks Ladies!!))  Hopefully you'll be able to buy it from my Etsy Shop soon!!

And don't forget to leave me some comment love if you like it!!

I figured I'd link it up to Project Run and Play!  Since I do love children's clothing!

  4. Love the dress shirring is one of my favorite details to add. I wish more people would try it and realize once you get the hang of it, it's not that hard. Love those eyes too.

  6. It's so simple, but that fabric was a great choice. What brand of elastic thread did you use. How about doing a tutorial on the process? I'd love to try it myself.
