Our Family Binder: Finances

WELCOME to our Organize Me!!! Sizzlin' Summer Series!!
In an effort to be a bit more organized I decided to create a Family Binder.  It would include not only important family information, but also help me to be more organized and efficient.  I got a lot of my ideas from Pinterest on my Organizing page.  I've created some of my own printables and have borrowed some from others.  I'll include links to those.  So for Monday's this summer, I'll show you my Family Binder and provide you with some printables you can use to start your own binder.  To make sure you don't miss any of the fun, like us on Facebook, follow us on Pinterest or join us on BlogLovin.

Get Your Crap Together

Enjoy!!

Finances Section

Finances are my least favorite, but they need to be organized so that I don't forget a bill payment!!  (Like I've ever done that.  Okay, maybe once or twice.  But my husband reminded me.)

To help me, about a year ago I just printed off a table and filled it in with each month.  It worked really well, but it wasn't very pretty.  So I came up with this little ditty!  It is each of the bills by month.  This is a great way to see what has been paid and what still needs to be paid.  It is also a great way to look back on what you spent in past months or years.  I like to see the change in my utility cost over the year.  It helps me "budget" for the next year.

I also like to keep track of my online accounts and passwords.  I use to have it on a piece of paper, but recently, I lost it.  This is not a lie.  Can't find it.  No idea where it ran off to.  Very depressing.  Another good reason to have this bad boy!  You can print it out, put the name of your account, log-in info and password.  And there are spots for 12 accounts!!  I have to admit I have already used it a time or two, because I have mom brain and couldn't remember.   One of my college professors always told us if we right it down then we don't need to worry about remembering.  Which is so true....except for when you can't remember where you wrote it down!!  So print and put it in your binder, like right now!!!

  1. This is a rather wise way of going through your finances. It helps to have a clear layout to visualize where you're at now with both your money and your spending. Helps build character, as spending becomes less of a frivolity here, and more of a discipline with an appratus, such as a planner.
