I had the opportunity to review Rose's Skirt from Mel at Filles a Maman. She is pretty much awesome. Has some great patterns and she is always willing to help a fellow designer. I have to admit, this skirt is DANG CUTE!! Seriously!!
I decided to use the same Polka Dot fabric I had leftover from the Signature Tunic I made last fall. I love me some Polka Dots. My baby girl is 14 months and she is loving this skirt! I paired it with some leggings as it is still a little chilly here.
(The top she is wearing is the Classic Ringer Tee from Peek-a-Boo Patterns. In case you were curious)
The pattern comes in so many sizes it blows my mind. Size 12 months to size 16!!! All your girls can match! That is one of the awesome parts about this pattern!! Another great part of this pattern is it is super easy and super quick to put together. I also like that you have the option to add pockets or not. My 12 month old doesn't need pockets, so that makes it even quicker of a sew. It reminds me a little bit of the Belinda Dress I made around Christmas time. I think because of the wide band at the bottom. But I love that part!
You can also customize the pattern to fit your child a little more by shortening the elastic and waistband. There are pleats on the front of the skirt that make it unique and fun!! The instructions are very clear with great pictures to help you as you sew along. She has separate pattern pieces for printing so there is a ton of cutting and taping. And it is easy to store your pattern when your done.
Overall, I love this pattern and you will too! Thanks Mel for giving me the chance to review it!
