The Perfect Hair Bow

The Perfect Hair Bow Tutorial at GYCT

Ever since having my baby girl I have enjoyed learning new ways to accessorize her.  This Perfect Hairbow is just one of the many crafts I enjoyed making.

Once you have made a few, you can store them on your Hair Bow Canvas.

Materials Needed:
Ribbon (length will depend on thickness and size you want the bow)
Needle
Thread
Hair Clip
Hot Gluegun

Take your length of ribbon.  I always start with about 12 inches.

To make a 2-3 inch bow, take about 2 inches of ribbon and fold it around itself like the picture above.

Fold it one more time, like the above picture.  This is a good side view.

Take your needle and thread, carefully pinch your ribbon sides together in the center of your ribbon.  Pierce your fabric with the needle and pull your thread through.  (Like above)

Now wrap your thread around your bow.  Wrap it around about 3 times and pull slightly.  But not too tight.

Now fix your ribbon so that it looks like a bow.  Pull your thread tightly and then wrap your thread around the center again 4-5 times.

Tie your thread off by pulling it through the thread on the back of the bow.

Now you should have a bow.  You can cut your raw edges with pinking shears or bun them so they don't fray.

Take your hair clip and add hot glue.

Attach clip to the back side of the bow.
