Sock Organizer Tutorial

Sock Organizer Tutorial by GYCT

Socks.  The most evil form of clothing in the world.  Why?  To start, there are two of them.  And for whatever reason they hate each other.  One is constantly hiding from the other.  Once you do find both of them you have to find a place to put them so that they won't get lost among the other items of clothing.  Finally, they almost always get holes.  Then you end up with one random sock that doesn't have a partner just floating around hoping to find another sock that lost its partner.  No wonder I almost always have a basket of socks to fold.  Yuck.

Today I thought I'd share a little tutorial on making your own Sock Organizer.  I know right.  FOR SOCKS.  This has helped tremendously keeping track of my children's tiny socks.  Keeps them in one place.

Materials Needed:
Felt Fabric (you can use whatever fabric you'd like, but felt tends to keep it's shape a bit more)
Scissors
Sewing Machine

First cut a square or rectangle out of your fabric.  I cut mine in a rectangle of 16" x 22".  My finished organizer measures 6"x 12".  You can decide for yourself how big you would need.

Next fold each of your corners so that they match up in a triangle and pin.

This is a picture of all 4 of my corners pinned.  You want them to be equal sizes so your organizer is a square or rectangle.

Next, sew down the triangle, making sure you backstitch.  Do this on all the corners.

Now cut off your corners.

You should now have a fun little "box".

Stuff it full of socks and put it in your drawer.

Isn't that much better then the mess it could be.
