Simple Cabbage Patch Doll Clothes Leggings Pattern

Making clothes for my kids Cabbage Patch doll clothes patterns has become a yearly tradition.  My children get to pick out the cute fabric and we sew up some new outfits each year.  Sometimes they pick the same fabric they have in pajamas or a dress.  It has become one of the projects I look forward to doing.  That's one of the reasons I love this Cabbage Patch Leggings pattern.

This post contains affiliate links to products I have used and highly recommend.  I do make a portion off any you may purchase.  But I wouldn't link to them if they weren't awesome!  See full disclosure here.

I wanted a leggings pattern in the beginning so that my sons enjoyed playing with dolls too.  They never like dresses but don't mind tees and pants.  So I thought leggings would be the perfect doll clothes patterns for my boys.  But I found that my daughter loves them too because they help any diapers or underwear she puts on her cabbage patch doll to stay on all the way.  Plus, it is a great way to teach her to be modest in dresses and tunics.

Leggings Pattern Instructions

Step 1
Place pant pieces with RST.  Stitch curved crotch lines together.

Mark the back of your pants/shorts.  I use 2 pins to mark the back, but you can also use a fabric pen and write CB for Center Back.  This will ensure you don’t forget which side is the back.

Step 2
Open inseam and place the fronts and back with RST.  Stitch across inseam.

Step 3
Hem the bottom of the pants by folding the raw edge towards the inside of the pants ½”.  Using your double needle, stretch stitch or zig-zag stitch, stitch around the hem of the pants.

Step 4
Fold the waistband in half widthwise, matching the short sides.  Stitch across the short side.

Fold the waistband in half with wrong sides together.

Step 5
Place waistband over the leggings matching raw edges.  Pin in place.  Stitch around the waistband at the raw edge.

Step 6
Press the waistband up.  Topstitch along the pant and the band.
