Summertime brings back so many fun memories. I grew up in Arizona where it was hot 9 months out of the year. We spent A LOT of time in the pool trying to cool off or sitting in what little shade we might find. To help cool us off, we would eat popsicles. We weren’t particular about our popsicles. They could be Otter Pops, or homemade popsicles. Either way, we were happy.
As an adult, I still enjoy a good popsicle. But now I see the benefit of having fresh fruits in my kids diets, so making homemade popsicles has become one of our traditions. My little people enjoy strawberries and so they really love homemade strawberry popsicles.
This year we headed out to a local u-pick strawberry patch. We had a great time. You can tell by the amount of strawberry juice on the kids faces. They were super tasty. We got 20 lbs of strawberries and knew we had to make some homemade strawberry popsicles.
Now about a year ago, we decided to start making our own yogurt. We can save money plus get a healthy and delicious yogurt that can last us a little longer. So this summer we combined our love of homemade yogurt and our love of strawberries into a delicious homemade strawberry yogurt popsicle. It was a BIG hit.
Not only are we get fresh fruit, but also fresh yogurt in one delicious treat. Bonus, we got to pick our own strawberries this year so they were super fresh and delicious.
